Service of Remembrance
The Service of Remembrance was an emotional and poignant reminder for the boys and the
Medbury family, on the sacrifice made by our military personnel. The boys were a sea of red with
their poppies; the Last Post and the choir’s rendition of ‘Panis Angelicus’ resounded beautifully
around The Medbury Centre. The address by Lieutenant Colonel Ben Curry included some wise
words from Wilfred Owen to emphasise the real perspective of war and not the glamorised version
many of our boys may have seen on television. The crystal clear notes of the Last Post, and the
Scottish lament on the bagpipes being played as the choir processed out, concluded a very memorable
event.
