TOP AWARD – 2020 CHRISTCHURCH SCHOOLS’ MUSIC VIRTUAL EVENT
Congratulations to Mrs Chapman and the combined Medbury Choristers and Medbury Chorus for winning the top award in the choral section of the 2020 Christchurch Schools’ Music Virtual Event ‘The Choir performance I enjoyed the most'.
The judge wrote: “what beautiful solos to begin with, lovely tones, excellent diction and tremendous courage! A lot of care had obviously gone into this performance, including the nice framing of the choir against the lake backdrop, and deft touches from string bass and kit drum. The performance was beautifully shaped from these opening soloists into climactic passages of considerable power. This is a choir that knows how to harmonise as well as hold individual parts in a complex texture. Bravo on such a polished and musical presentation.”
